'Her Layers'

Winter and the festive season can be drawn out, expectations high and life somewhat stressful, there is a richness and vibrancy that also comes with it that fills me up and stirs my creative soul.

This painting represents all of the above! It embodies the beautiful vibrancy, richness as well as the imperfectly perfect layering of my life over the year.

I've sat with this painting over the week and at first I judged her! I tore her apart in my head for what I expected her to be and what she ultimately ended up becoming. And now, I sit with her and I see her for all she is! All of the layers and layers, some mistakes but also equally important in the stability of this piece.

She's not just a festive piece. She's to be hung year round, to enjoy, letting her layers tell a story. Whatever your story is!
